Project Overview
Awarded the contract to provide Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with a new state of the art 4300m² ward development, Modern Methods of Construction condensed what is normally a three-year project into just one. Ingenious architectural design, an agile team and Modern Methods of Construction, gave a fast-track option without compromising on quality – never more critical than during a global pandemic! In the most demanding period the NHS has ever faced and following the disruption caused by COVID-19, MTX worked tirelessly to deliver the project on time and to the highest possible standard. This was all whilst ensuring minimal disruption to everyday hospital operations and uninterrupted access to the neighbouring Oncology Department. The speed of delivery and adaptable design also allowed Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to play a more influential role in the wider NHS strategy, as the Nightingale Hospital for the region. By utilising offsite construction, we estimate a cost saving of at least 15% when compared to traditional construction.
