Project Overview

Innovative, modern methods of construction pushed the boundaries of the construction industry at MTX's project at Glenfield Hospital and delivered 64 new beds in just 12 months; impossible using traditional construction.

What makes the project even more compelling is the location. Works commenced on the rooftop of the existing hospital and 120 volumetric modules were craned into position over a 14 day period, without disturbing staff or patients in the wards below or adjacent departments.

The challenging brief was met through close collaboration with hospital stakeholders, where MTX lead the design team from RIBA stage 1. This enabled MTX to design, manufacture and install a high quality off-site healthcare facility, which delivered all of the Trusts key drivers and specification requirements in record time.

An environmentally sustainable project, which is testament to a highly collaborative and progressive team approach, maximising Modern Methods of Construction. Working in partnership with forward thinking clients and likeminded companies, makes this solution a blueprint for healthcare estates which must maintain business as usual for continuity of service.
