Project Overview
Motel One situated in the Piccadilly area of Manchester is a 330-bed hotel built for a German hotel operator who's philosophy is to provide high quality hotels at an affordable price. The German hotel chain sought a robust hi-rise hotel solution that could not only reduce construction costs, but time on-site as well. Local Main Contractor Russells Construction appointed FP Mcann to design, manufacture and erect the precast concrete structure, which included acid etched composite sandwich panels in a Portland hue colour. The site is in a prominent position and the building has been deliberately designed to enhance the area and help to stitch together the very different buildings that surround the site. Motel One is a flag ship project for FP Mcann, the structure being their first high-rise acid etched sandwich panel solution.
