Project Overview
This project marks a historic new approach to offsite construction for Simons Group, and another successful collaboration between Simons and Marks and Spencer. This approach meant that Simons were able to deliver the store two weeks ahead of schedule, making a build time reduction of nearly 30%, much to the retailer's delight and their customers. The project received a Considerate Constructor Scheme (CCS) score of 10/10 for 'Protecting the Environment', with the monitor stating, "This is an excellent example of a collaborative approach to sustainable developmentā¦". The offsite build resulted in a 32% reduction in waste across project timescale and 90% reduction in wastage of high value materials. The process changed the benchmark for Simons as a business; who are now evaluating their entire approach to frameworks and fit out projects as a result of the benefits shown at Meole Brace in Shrewsbury.
