Project Overview
Scape Design have developed an off site building offer called Connect, which delivers permanent quality educational space at an affordable cost. The main focus of this approach is to offer flexible buildings that are cost efficient and provide best value to the Clients and End Users. We have recently completed the first 2 phases of a programme of projects with Bedford Borough Council, to replace all of the temporary mobile accommodation across the Borough with quality permanent buildings. The Connect approach that was used, was to take the off site rules and push them harder through a design led process. This resulted in flexible educational building projects that were designed for the end users, with their specific needs considered.
Pooling knowledge from a team of Architects at Scape Design, teamed with buildability knowledge from the Contractors and wider project team has ensured that this off site approach utilised for Bedford Borough has continued to develop and evolve. Increased productivity and collaboration with the supply chain has continued to drive reductions in programme and cost on public sector projects
