Project Overview
Princess Royal Hospital, part of the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals NHS Trust (SaTH) had secured capital to install a new Mid Wife Led adjacent to their new Women & Children’s Unit. However, capital had to be used in a limited timeframe which, precluded utilising a traditional design and build solution. SaTH needed a delivery partner who would collaborate on design development and then deliver a complete ‘Turnkey’ solution as Principal Contractor from site possession to practical completion including substructure, superstructure & internal/ external finishes. In response, Catfoss consulted with all stakeholders and developed a bespoke modular design on a ‘staggered’ footprint to accommodate the positioning of the required foundations around existing underground services. Within the delivered HTM/ HBN compliant building all end-user requirements were met delivering an innovative, inviting, comfortable, tranquil environment with unique wall art, LED lighting, and ‘sky’ panels over birthing pools. Budget control, compliance, speed of installation, and complete process transparency were the reasons behind SaTH choosing Catfoss for the latest project.
