Trimble Brings an Easier and More Connected Construction Workflow to Modular Matters

5th January, 2023

Leading the digital revolution, Trimble will be demonstrating the benefits of its Connected Construction workflow for the offsite sector at Modular Matters 2023.

Taking place on 7 – 8 February 2023 at Birmingham's National Conference Centre (NCC), Modular Matters Conference & Exhibition will feature the latest developments, innovations and investments in the volumetric modular sector. Presenting an insight into the future of construction, the event represents a great opportunity to learn more about how the sector can best tackle industry challenges and network with those who are at the forefront of the volumetric modular sector.

Visitors to the Trimble stand will be able to learn more about what Tekla's constructible modelling software can bring to modular construction, as well as the value that Trimble's automation tools and their data can deliver for a truly connected construction workflow. A key part of this is the Volumetric Modular Tool, available within Tekla Structures 2022.

Designed specifically for the offsite market, the Volumetric Modular Tool is there to help make the BIM workflow even more efficient. It enables users to construct 3D models of modular units and 'pods' far quicker and easier, with automation at the tool's core. As well as saving valuable time, with a basic unit able to be created in just a couple of clicks, the tool also offers a clear assembly hierarchy, automatically creating and organising assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts ready for production.

What's more, the tool's parametric capabilities help to streamline the change management process, with any change made to one assembly automatically being made to all other connected parts.

In addition to exhibiting at the event, Trimble is also taking part in the Modular Matters Conference, with Craig Johnson, Business Development Manager for Detailing & Manufacturing, appearing on the 'Panel Debate: Digital Platforms' on the second day of the event. Craig will be discussing the value of connected construction, with automated tools and streamlined data being used from design to manufacture, ultimately resulting in more sustainable outcomes with reduced waste, less rework and greater collaboration.

Michelle Mendes, Marketing Manager at Trimble, spoke about the upcoming event, saying: "We're delighted to be exhibiting at Modular Matters 2023, showcasing how connected construction and digital workflows can benefit the offsite and modular sectors. With a reliable flow of data through the entire construction lifecycle, our tools help improve collaboration across teams, which obviously has a great impact in project delivery. With modular construction set to play a big part in the industry's future, it's important that we all explore how new technologies and innovations can help us keep pace with this fast-moving sector."

With cloud-based connectivity and model-driven workflows spanning every phase of construction, Trimble offers interconnected solutions that help you build faster, cheaper, greener and safer.
