L&G Modular Homes CFO Leaves After A Year

1st November, 2022

Lance Gillett will be replaced by Ben Ashby as L&G Modular Homes' chief financial officer

The chief financial officer of Legal and General's modular housing business has left the job after just over a year.

Lance Gillett will be replaced at L&G Modular Homes by Ben Ashby, who was head of accounting and reporting at the L&G Group from June 2020 until last month.

Gillett took on the CFO role on 4 May last year and his appointment was terminated on Friday last week (28 Oct).

Rosie Toogood, chief executive of L&G Modular Homes, said: "Lance Gillett has decided to retire from his role as CFO. On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank Lance for the fantastic contribution he has made to the growth of the business during his time with us and wish him a long and happy retirement."

His replacement, Ben Ashby, joined Legal & General in 2020, having previously worked in finance roles at both BUPA and British Airways, where he lead divisions through change and growth. Toogood added: "I'm looking forward to working with Ben to continue to grow our business."

L&G Modular recorded a pre-tax loss of £36.8m for the 2021 calendar year but Toogood said at the time the firm was on course to build 450 homes in 2022.

The firm was set up in 2016 to build 3,500 factory-build homes a year. It fell to a pre-tax loss of £30.6m for the 2019 calendar year, without reporting any revenue.
