The historic group behind modular building manufacturer Portakabin has reported a strong performance in its latest financial results with revenue and pre-tax profit increasing.
York-headquartered Shepherd Group can trace its history back to 1890 and currently employs about 1,800 people.
Recently filed accounts for Shepherd Building Group show turnover of £359m for the year ending 31 December 2021, up from £348.4m in 2020.
Pre-tax profit also increased to £60.2m from £49.3m the previous year.
Operating profit for Portakabin grew by 4 per cent to £86.4m, primarily from the hire businesses throughout the UK and Europe.
Andrew Allner, chairman at Shepherd Building Group, said: "This year has been yet another where our teams across the group have shown their commitment and resilience in the face of a continually changing and challenging environment and for that, we are incredibly grateful.
"Business performance has been strong, particularly in the UK, driven by ongoing public sector demand.
"In addition, we maintained a strong focus on implementing our strategy for growth by further increasing our diversity of products, operations, markets and customers to further strengthen the group as a whole."
In January 2022, Portakabin announced that Dan Ibbetson has been appointed as chief executive of the group. He succeeded Derek Carter, who had led the business for ten years.
