Cheltenham-based BladeRoom Group has signed The Climate Pledge - committing its business operations to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
The off-site construction company, with manufacturing sites in the UK and North America, has committed to reach net zero 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement.
The Climate Pledge is a 375+ strong global community of companies, organisations and partners, working together to tackle the climate crisis.
Co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism, the signatories are leading the business fight against climate change by reducing carbon emissions. The current list of signatories features many of the biggest global companies and brands, such as Uber, VISA and PepsiCo.
BladeRoom Group (BRG) has successfully delivered over 300 mission-critical off-site construction projects across Europe, North America, Australia and Africa, worth in excess of £825 million. Earlier this year, it was included in The Sunday Times Hundred, the top-100 fastest-growing companies in Britain.
Being kinder to the planet is key to BRG's values and culture. From incentivising staff to reduce their carbon emissions to a new net zero global headquarters, it is pursuing several projects to reduce the carbon emissions produced by its business operations.
William Thornton, CEO of BladeRoom Group, said: "It is BladeRoom's drive for innovation and more sustainable methods of construction which has helped guide the understanding of our carbon footprint and the impact we have on our planet. We believe The Climate Pledge provides sufficient accountability and assurance, as we continue our journey to reduce our carbon footprint towards the goal of becoming net-zero by 2040, if not before."
